Web & Digital Specialist Job Tasks

Daily/As Requested

  • Add new products to website
  • Website maintenance (remove obsolete items, change content as requested, and add functionality as requested) – refer to automated email notifications for obsolete item communication and take action.
  • Distribute or respond to form inquiries generated from the websites
  • Enter processes and maintain all entries on the Wiki2 site
  • Distribute or respond to all social media questions and inquiries
  • Engage with social media by liking comments, responding to comments/questions, etc.
  • Review and distribute any domain renewal notifications to divisional VP to confirm if we should continue with domain or cancel

Weekly

  • Check and update website theme and apps/plugins and check for any compatibility issues or errors
  • Check all sites for outstanding/unfilled or potential high risk orders and work with Customer Service to resolve these order issues
  • Back up any necessary site files
  • Review Accessibe email notifications for recommended updates/edits to stay ADA compliant

Monthly

  • Review security scans and resolve any issues
  • Review local search visibility/SEO
  • Troubleshoot any sales channel issues or connections as updates occur such as google shopping, Facebook shopping, etc.
  • Attend and lead the social and website improvement discussion in each monthly divisional Web Update meeting (updates should include social performance, improvement suggestions, issues, promotional/ad ideas, social media calendar approvals)
  • Review all installed apps on sites and remove any applications that are no longer being used

Quarterly

  • Monthly Audit of all ecommerce sites to include overall design improvements, SEO, speed, mobile compatibility, etc.
  • Change/update homepage and/or feature images for all ecommerce site to keep sites fresh

Annually

  • Review SSL certificates, domain registrations, ADA compliance software (each July) and hosting services for all sites.
