Process Overview: The Inbound Shipment Details saved search provides Receiving with all the information needed to prepare for incoming deliveries. Regularly monitoring and reviewing this saved search helps assist in the scheduling and general preparation for upcoming deliveries. The below process and guidelines should be followed when reviewing the Inbound Shipment Details search.
Frequency: The Inbound Shipment Details saved search should be reviewed at least 3 times per week.
Step 1: Navigate to the Inbound Shipment Details saved search. (Path: Shipping & Receiving tab > Inbound Shipments > Inbound Shipment Details)
Step 2: Set the Filters as necessary. Typically, the Line Location filter should be set to the applicable warehouse location and the Status filter should be set to include ‘In Transit’ and ‘Partially Received’. The results will then include all shipments directed to the chosen facility that are currently in transit and anything that has been partially received and is still open.
Step 3: Once the filters have been set, the results will be displayed in the bottom section of the screen. The fields listed below are the primary fields that are taken into consideration.
- High Priority (first column)/BO fields– Shows shipments containing back-ordered items and/or containers that have been marked as priority. These shipments are prioritized when setting delivery dates.
- Port Date– Shows the estimated arrival date to the port. The port date is helpful as it provides a general outlook for upcoming deliveries.
- Container Del Date– Coincides with the Scheduled Delivery Date that is on the Inbound Shipment record. This is set in the Inbound Shipment Manager application once the delivery date is confirmed with the carrier.
- Need Aud– Indicates the number of items that require an audit before being able to be received. This is important as all items that require an audit must be audited before the Inbound Shipment is received into NetSuite.
- Items/Ttl Ctns/Ttl Hrs/Ttl Pallet fields– Provides a general idea of the shipment volume and time required to receive in the shipment.
This completes the process of reviewing inbound shipments.
