Review Daily Material Handling Pre-Use Checklist

Process Overview: Before machine operators use their machines each day, they are required to do an inspection of their machines and fill out a daily checklist that is turned in at the end of the week. These checklists are then reviewed to check for issues, help identify trends, and ensure that we are taking steps to prevent any potential issues. The process below should be used when reviewing the daily checklists.

Step 1: Ensure the checklists for all machines are available to each department. The printable checklists can be found using the following path in SharePoint: Advantus Corp\Advantus Operations – Documents\SharePoint\Forms\Equipment check list\Revised Sheets

Step 2: Ensure each operator has filled out the appropriate checklist for all days within the week where the ride was used. The Equipment Number should be at the top of the checklist and the operator’s initials should be at the bottom.

  • *Note– All issues, damage, faults, etc. should be reported to the department manager immediately.

Step 3: Once all checklists have been filled out for the week, review each checklist, and take the appropriate actions for any outstanding issues that have yet to be addressed. Completed checklists should then be stored for X amount of time.

  • *Note– Completed checklists should be kept for at least 1 year and will be kept in the following locations:
