Product Testing

Product Testing

Advantus maintains and conducts a reasonable testing process of its manufactured items on an ongoing basis, consistent with applicable legal and customer requirements.  For some product classifications, testing of products by a certified lab is required to check for harmful substances. Even if not required, lab tests may be conducted to ensure proper labeling of a product and its safety.

Product Testing Standards, Requirements, and Record-Keeping

Many of the federal consumer product safety rules for which testing and certification are required are listed on the CPSC’s website in CPSC’s table  of regulated products.  The CSPC is a US independent federal government agency focused on protecting consumers from defective products that pose a risk of damage, injury, or death from choking, fire, electrical malfunctions, poison, chemicals, and mechanical malfunctions.  A test of each product or a reasonable testing program is required.

Product Testing Process

From the initiation of testing to Advantus receiving the final testing report can take weeks. The new item testing process can be reviewed below. Renewal/annual testing of items follow the same process except there is no testing request for Product Compliance to receive. The testing pipeline in NetSuite is utilized for renewal/annual testing.
