My DI Items Missing CID Info

WHAT IS THE REMINDER FOR?

This reminder will pull active items with a preferred location of Direct Import that is missing any of these three criteria.

  • Factory Name
  • Factory Address
  • Shipping Port

WHY IS IT IMPORTANT?

When items are sold via Direct Import, factory information must be added to the Customer Item Detail (CID) for the customer ordering it.  The information is used to populate direct import paperwork.

See Adding Manufacturer Address for more information on finding the information.

Remember – you must use the actual factory address, not the buying office information.

HOW DO I CORRECT ISSUES?

You can go to the actual CID record and enter the information there, or you can inline edit the reminder, which is much faster.

The factory name and address are text fields that you can copy and paste into.

The shipping port is a dropdown field.

When you are done editing your items, slide the edit button back to the left to save.

TIPS & TRICKS

Are there any exceptions?

There are items marked Direct Import that have CID for customers that are not DI customers.

  • Why?
    • The item could have been sold domestically and direct import at one time but is now 100% exclusive to a customer.  Due to the criteria, the non-DI CID records will pull even though they are not in use anymore.
