Item Restrictions/Exclusivity

  • Saved Search is in Quick Links for most roles.
  • Lists items that cannot be sold to particular customer OR can only be sold to particular customers
  • Used in Sales Order validation
    • If a Sales Order fails validation for the Exclusive/Restricted test and record is modified, validation must run again

Items can be designated Exclusive or Restricted at any time in the item’s lifecycle

If it is known an item will be exclusive during development, Product & Sourcing will set the item as exclusive when they create the item in NetSuite. If it later becomes exclusive, Sales Ops will set the item as exclusive at the direction of the division.

Sales Ops is responsible for setting any items as restricted, but direction comes from the division.

Sales Ops should run the Exclusivity/Restriction Saved Search quarterly and send to their division head to review and confirm if any changes or additions should be made in order to keep the records up date to date.

***Items can be exclusive to mulitple customer numbers***
