Project Ranking Process

After a proposed project is submitted to ci@advantus.com by the Division or Department, CI will gather information needed to rank the project. This allows CI to determine if the project is necessary and if so, what priority should be assigned to it. The following steps outline how a rank is assigned to each request.

CI/Project Manager schedules meeting with requestor

Summary of the project is reviewed first to provide broad overview of the need

CI/Project Manager confirms:

-Number of Divisions impacted

-Number of Departments impacted

-Number of employees impacted

CI/Project Manager obtains in greater detail what the current process is, if existing or defines what the process needs to be, if new.

CI/Project Manager creates Report_form for proposed Project and saves it in the Advantus Continuous Improvement, Shared Services Projects folder.

CI/Project Manager completes Process/Project, Department/Division, Initial Condition and Before section on the newly created Project Report Form.

CI/Project Manager performs a Cost-Benefit Analysis (CBA) to identify costs associated with project

CI/Project Manager uses obtained information from previous steps and compares to the Project Ranking System to assign a priority to the proposed project

9

CI/Project Manager completes Project Tracking Sheet with Rank and notifies requestor of the ranking and project status.
