- Initiating Packaging Request:
- All packaging requests must go through the graphics request process.
- Submission of Information:
- Packaging production commences upon receipt of all necessary details via the Packaging Request Template.
- Verbal, Zoom, or non-process requests are unacceptable and may delay deliverables.
- Assignment:
- Packaging assignments are at the discretion of the Supervisor, considering factors like artist workload, brand familiarity and skillset.
- Packaging Creation
- Adobe Illustrator (latest version) is used for packaging creation unless specified otherwise.
- Unless specified otherwise, all artwork and images will be in CMYK mode.
- Follow defined packaging standards
- Organization and Storage:
- Packaging files must be stored in the respective brand folder: I:\PACKAGING\Brand Name.
- Each brand folder contains a subfolder labeled “_Packaging In Progress” for ongoing projects.
- Files are saved with logical, searchable names in subfolders until approval.
- Proofing Process:
- Proofs are shared via Review Studio, each artist is responsible for saving their personal credentials in Bitwarden.
- Proofs are submitted as PDF or JPEG files with “PROOF” in the title and identifiable markings. Please include some sort of indication in the artwork to visually communicate that the artwork is a proof and not acceptable for final printing
- Stakeholders review proofs, including requester, Brand Product Manager, Marketing Director, Creative Director, and Director of PD, as well as any others listed on the initial request
- At least 2 reviewers must approve the proof before release
- Artwork Finalization:
- Please be reminded that only the graphic artist is authorized to deliver artwork. Saving proofs from ReviewStudio or sending files from the I:\ drive without consent from the graphics team may lead to errors from the factory. Such actions do not save time or help our team.
- Upon approval, the Graphic Artist prepares a master file meeting specific requirements.
- The master file is saved in I:\PACKAGING\Brand Name\ITEM# – PRODUCT NAME – DESCRIPTION – PKG (see packaging standards)
- Outline File Creation:
